Many People have nobody to help support them

But with Community Support

We all can

The project

Poole Covid-19 Community Support Group was created in response to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. It was set up by two local women, Emma and Sarah and there is now a team of incredible volunteers.

The community support group was set up after we came across people who were having to self isolate whether that be due to the fact they were displaying symptoms or are in the vulnerable categories and they did not have any family or friends able to support them. At the time of setting the group up, there was no other groups or government response, so the group quickly responded.

With lots of people furloughed, many of those being younger and healthier people, we wanted to do our bit and help co-ordinate volunteers to support those who need help.

The group has three aims:

  1. To provide assistance to those who are in the vulnerable categories and those who are self-isolating who have no available support from family or friends
  2. To help support local and small businesses within our local community to ensure they are there when the pandemic is over as they are the hubs of our local areas
  3. To tackle loneliness and social isolation which is a public health issue

We offer the following support to meet our aims:

  • Shopping
  • Food Bank deliveries
  • Prescription collection and delivery
  • Dog Walking
  • “Check and chat” service

We take safeguarding very seriously.

All our volunteers are vetted and have agreed to abide by our Safeguarding Guidelines.
